It seems like Pixar has fallen off the deep end in their latest films and now they're trying to rekindle success through old movies by making sequels. If Toy Story 4's story was 'so good it just had to be made' what does that make Toy Story 5? 'Even better than TS4 it had to be made?" Give me a break. Toy Story 4 and 5 would sell many more tickets rather than advertising a different name even though I am sure they'll both have no relation to the quality of the first three films. Why did Pixar not decide to do so? Money. My suggestion is that Toy Story 4 should've had its name changed due to the nature of the 4th film and especially since they're going to make another 5th film. I viewed the 4th movie as a 'new beginning' for the Toy Story franchise rather than the 4th iteration of the originals. Toy Story 4 was a fine movie however, it pales in comparison to the first 3 films. They were well aware how successful the 3rd movie was at concluding the story, but they took a risk and ran with it. Then, a few years ago, some of the original Toy Story writers (Lasseter, Stanton, etc.) said that they had 'such an amazing idea for Toy Story 4 that it had to be made'. However, if you are a fan of animated films and/or Pixar, I would love to hear your thoughts and theories!įollowing Toy Story 3, one of Pixar's best sequels of all time, it seemed like the absolute perfect conclusion to the Toy Story series. I know not too many people talk about animated films in this thread, so I apologize in advance if this is a waste of your time.
